He hails from Chicago, Illinois, and has a solid game plan from the moment he begins the show.

Trey’s mom is player 302, and he is player 301. Speaking in episode 1, he said if his mom “outlasts him,” he’d just think he had “the coolest mom.”
When it comes to what he’d do with the prize money, Trey said he’d help pay off his parents’ home.

During Squid Game: The Challenge episode 5, Trey explains that six months prior to filming the show, his lung collapsed.
He explained that he was in hospital for eight days and had a “near death” experience.
Opening up on the Netflix show, Trey added that it “put things into perspective” for him.
As the episodes are released, fans take to X (Twitter) to share that they are “rooting” for Trey.
More wrote that they “love” player 301 and another tweeted: “Trey got robbed in the squid game challenge.”

Squid Game: The Challenge episode 8 sees Trey talk about how he may have had “expectations that were too high” put on him in his younger years, adding: “Sometimes you fail.”
The series then cuts to Trey making steps forward in a glass bridge challenge. He says: “Ashley’s not making any sort of motion that she’s going to step up for me and the best I can do is keep going.”
The 25-year-old keeps moving in the game, while Ashley remains still. Eventually, Trey jumps ahead and is eliminated from the challenge.
Many fans took to social media to comment on how unfair they thought Trey’s departure was.

Ashley was called “selfish” by some of the remaining players and more said that they’d be looking out for her as she’d “shown herself as not being a team player.”
